Euthanasia does not cause more deaths, just less suffering

Welcome to Paws in Peace, an independent award winning practice in Devon

Compassionate at-home euthanasia for your beloved pets

Whilst saying goodbye to a much-loved pet is never easy; making the decision itself is perhaps even harder. We all hope that our companions will drift away peacefully in their sleep at the end of a long, happy and healthy life. Naturally, this is sometimes the case, but for those times where it is sadly not to be, Paws in Peace is here for you and your pets.

Empathic and practical care

Kate, our compassionate, experienced vet will provide all the support and advice you need in order to plan for a peaceful passing at home.

  • If you would like it, we can offer a no-obligation quality-of-life consultation at your home, on the phone or via a video call. During this consultation we will listen to your concerns and needs and plan a calm and pain-free passing for your beloved pet.

  • Then, when you feel the time is right to say goodbye, Kate will visit your home, providing a dignified and peaceful farewell at the agreed time.

 A final act of love

Helping our faithful companions to a calm, pain-free and dignified end is both a privilege and a responsibility – but it’s not something you have to shoulder alone. Paws in Peace will support and guide you through the process with a personal service that respects your wishes and honours your pet.

The Paws in Peace at-home euthanasia service is available in and around Mid-Devon and South Somerset – please ask and we’ll be happy to confirm whether we are able to attend your home.

Meet Kate, your Paws in Peace vet

Kate has loved and lost many pets over the years, most recently her dear companion, Stanley. Kate understands how important the relationship with our pet companions can be. She feels passionately that every pet has the right to a peaceful, painless and dignified end, and that you, their families, deserve a warm and compassionate service as you guide your treasured companion on their final journey.

Having gained extensive experience in a number of companion animal practices since qualifying from the Royal Veterinary College in 1993, in 2020, Kate was able to fulfil a long-held dream and set up her own at-home euthanasia service, Paws in Peace. Kate undertook extra studies around end of life care and was delighted to win 2 ‘Best UK Vets’ awards for Paws in Peace in 2023 .

It is a privilege and an honour to be invited into your home to help your pet towards a peaceful passing, and supporting you as you say goodbye to your beloved friend.

Kate lives in Devon with her two children and their little loony spaniel Lola and 3 legged cat, Finn.

Everyone is taught that angels have wings, but the lucky ones of us find they have 4 paws.
